Refresh

Answers

Can an email API send without storing message content?

Yes. In Refresh, set an organization's body retention to 0 and the message body is removed as soon as the message is sent, and the API request log keeps only the length of the HTML, text and template data. Addresses, subjects and delivery events stay for the event retention you choose.

What you get

  • Body retention is set per organization, from 0 to 90 days.
  • With 0, the worker deletes the body right after sending; a daily pass finishes any removal that failed.
  • With 0, the API log stores the length of html, text and template data, never the content.
  • Stored bodies are encrypted; a client organization's are encrypted under its own KMS key.
  • Deleting an organization deletes its stored bodies.
  • Data is held in the United States; the sub-processors are listed in the Privacy Policy.

How it works

  1. Open Settings, then Organization.
  2. Set Body retention to 0 and save.
  3. Send as usual; the message timeline keeps the events, not the content.
